Intended Audience and brief
background This course is intended for
procurement officers and members or would be members of a competitive
dialogue team or project group whatever their role may be. It will explore the benefits and
boundaries of the competitive dialogue process and also challenge the choice
of this route as a procedure. It is extremely important that the right
choices are made so to maximise the benefit of this
course, it should be attended or run prior to the decision to go with
competitive dialogue is confirmed. However it is never too late. This course can be run specifically
for teams embarking on the process or for individuals/mixed organisations that are perhaps at the exploratory stage.
It should be seen as an early important stage of the process and an element
of the team building process. |

Objectives of the course and format This course on competitive dialogue
will explain the thinking behind the introduction of the process and the
relevant legislation behind it. We will a look at the approach to
take without unnecessarily over complicating the process, which is often the
cause of failure. Exploring each stage of the process to ensure maximum
benefit in terms of acquiring knowledge and achieving the optimum
outcomes. We will also look at recent
developments with regard to the approach to competitive dialogue and the
other option of the negotiated procedure and the forthcoming innovation
partnerships. |

Training methods Training will be a mixture of
prepared information on PowerPoint, discussion, case studies and exercises
aimed to raise awareness and to stimulate the delegate to share experiences
and to return to the work base with an action plan to apply themselves to
improving the approach to competitive dialogue or alternative processes If
you have a case study bring it. |

Programme The programme
will run from 10.00 – 4-00 approximately and where appropriate bespoke
to an organisations own situation. Delegates will be requested, where
they have any, to discuss their own experiences and share best practice with
